'Superman' first reviews: Critics calls David Corenswet's portrayal 'exceptional'
James Gunn's directed 'Superman' is set to release on July 11
David Corenswet starrer Superman has just received its first set of reviews from critics.
A special screening was held in Los Angeles on July 7 after which some of the viewers have shared their opinion about the film.
Critics have been praising the 31-year-old actor’s portrayal of the superhero and the vision of director James Gunn.
According to Podcaster Brandon David, Corenswet's depiction of 'Superman' was exceptional.
“David Corenswet portrays an exceptional iteration of #Superman with sincerity, heroism, purity, and inspirational traits.”
He further praised the chemistry shared between him and Rachel Borsnahan. “Corenswet & Rachel Brosnahan’s chemistry for Clark and Lois is off the charts. Their relationship is an excellent driver, especially early”.
Meanwhile, Epic Film Guys said, “James Gunn did it! Vibrant, lighthearted and action-packed, it’s a true to form comic book adaptation surging with hope.”
They also believe that David carried the role with great responsibility.
“David Corenswet embodies the definitive Superman for a new generation. This is the Superman movie we’ve been waiting for.”
Backed by Warner Bros, the all-new Superman film is slated to release globally on July 11. It also features Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
