Katherine Heigl reveals struggles with body image in Hollywood
Katherine Heigl opens up about Hollywood's dark side
Katherine Heigl is opening up about how Hollywood changed her perspective on working out.
The Firefly Lane actress, who has struggled long enough to come to terms with her body, revealed why she wants her daughters to have a different experience and not worry about their looks.
She explained, "I'm trying to explain that to my girls now, like, 'Don't make this about changing your body or fighting with your body. Make it about feeling emotionally good.'”
In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, Heigl reflected on her nearly two-decade experience in the spotlight, starting at age 16.
Despite being initially swept up in the glamour of stardom, Heigl faced pressure to lose weight to meet industry expectations.
The actress told the outlet, "Since I was 16 years old, I've been told to lose weight. I look at my 16-year-old self and I'm like...'That was your peak. What were they complaining about?' It's bizarre. Hollywood is bizarre."
Heigl, who started out young in the industry, said Hollywood pressure made her hate the idea of ‘working out’ since so much was expected of her at the time.
