Dakota Johnson reflects on book club and movie role to play in future
American actress speaks up about her love for books and a character she’s love to take on in the future
Dakota Johnson has recently opened up about her love for books and a character she would like to play in her future project.
The Fifty Shades of Grey star spoke to the press as she attended Karlovy Vary Film Festival in the Czech Republic where she received the distinguished President's Award, via Deadline.
Dakota is lately making headlines for her performance in Celine Song's romantic dramedy Materialists and will soon appear in Michael Angelo Covino's Cannes-hyped physical comedy Splitsville.
After playing many roles in her career, Dakota pointed out that she’s eager to play a “psychopath” in the future.
“There are roles that I dream of playing… I would love to play a psychopath, would love to do an action movie,” said the 35-year-old at the press conference.
Meanwhile, Dakota also revealed her love for books which is why she also initiated a book club a year ago.
“I love a hard copy but I also have an iPad, because I want to help the environment and runs a book club in her increasingly limited spare time,” stated the Materialists actress.
When asked how she choose a book for her club, to which she replied, “We get manuscripts really early on from publishing houses, and so we’re able to mark up what books we’re going to be having in the club six months in advance.”
For now, Dakota mentioned that she’s reading Miranda July’s new book for pleasure.
“I loved her last book, The First Bad Man, and this one is called…” She struggles for a really long time to remember… All Fours,” added the Madame Web actress.
