Spain's Princess Leonor catches up with her younger sister, Infanta Sofia, in a private visit while carrying out her naval training.
The daughters of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia-aged 19 and 18 are first and second in line to the Spanish throne, respectively.
The royal meeting was reportedly under kept under wraps, with no mention of it on the social media pages of the Spanish Royal Household.
Royal commentator Javier Lopez revealed the reunion after a photo of the sisters with an elderly woman surfaced online.
Posting on X, Lopez wrote: 'Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia reunite in Gijon after the arrival of the Juan Sebastian Elcano. The sisters dined at the Casona de Jovellanos, the only trace of this reunion, as @CasaReal has not documented it on any of its social media.'
In the picture, Leonor, who is the heir to the throne, was seen still wearing her naval uniform, while Sofia appeared casually dressed in a white shirt and skinny jeans.
The strong bond between the sisters has been apparent since childhood, including a memorable moment in 2010 when Leonor held Sofia's hand on their first day at Santa Maria de los Rosales School.
Leonor is currently in the midst of a six-month maritime deployment aboard the training ship Juan Sebastian ELcano, as part of her military education.
The future queen has already visited multiple South American ports during the voyage. This marks Leonor's second family visit during her naval training. In May, Queen Letizia travelled to Panama City so spend time with her daughter.
