Brad Pitt still regrets the divorce with Angelina Jolie because he “loved” her.
The 62-year-old Hollywood star has recently opened up about struggling with addiction and breaking patterns when his relationship with Jolie exploded.
Following the Fight Club star’s honest confessions on a podcast, a source revealed to Us Weekly, “The divorce is something that had been controlling his life for so many years. He loved her and he knows he made mistakes.”
They continued, “It was such a divisive, toxic situation.”
The former couple split in 2016 and their divorce was finalised after a long legal battle, in December 2024.
The source went on to add that the divorce “turned the kids against him as well” but Pitt “doesn’t blame [Jolie] for everything.”
The F1 actor’s “biggest regret is he can’t repair this,” they said, adding, “The case is over but there are no winners.”
“To have that behind him is a relief,” but, they said, “on the other hand, it’s been hard for him because he doesn’t have a great relationship with his kids.”
The insider further told the outlet that since working on his sobriety, Pitt has experienced a new zeal for life, “Ever since he stopped drinking, everything has changed.”
However, Jolie “is still not in a place where she is going to forgive him or ever will.”
