David Corenswet shared what he thinks Superman would want in the today world. The actor believes the Man of Steel would still stand for the same ideals today that he always has, kindness, responsibility, and hope.
Speaking to the BBC, the actor reflected on what Superman would make of the world now, saying that “he’d probably like to see more kindness.”
Highlighting the characters willingness "to take on responsibility" with "joy", he added that he thinks "he would like to inspire others in the world today to take on more responsibility.”
Rachel Brosnahan, who stars as Lois Lane, shared a similar sentiment, emphasizing the hero’s nature of helping.
Gushing over how Superman “sees people and things in need and steps in when you need him without questions,” the actress said he would “step in and help whenever and wherever he could.”
Nicholas Hoult, taking on the role of Superman’s iconic rival Lex Luthor, also believes the character’s presence would push the world toward something better, wanting “to see more goodness in the world.”
Hoult, known for recent performances in Nosferatu and Juror #2, feels optimistic about this take on the DC legend and says that “Gunn's version is a lot of fun and celebrates what it is to be human.”
He added that he doesn’t believe audiences are tired of superhero stories just yet. For him, the key is “to have good storytelling and create characters that people are inspired by.”
The film, directed by James Gunn, introduces several new heroes to the DC Universe, including Guy Gardner/Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Rex Mason/Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Michael Holt/Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi).
