David Corenswet did not shy away from taking important notes from Superman alumni for the much-anticipated DC reboot.

In the recent iterations, the red-caped superhero was been played by Henry Cavill in DC films from 2013 – 2022 and Tyler Hoechlin played in The CW drama Superman & Lois for four seasons.

During the reboot's London premiere, Corenswet recalled his experience on having conversation with Cavill and Hoechlin about iconic hero.

"I was lucky enough to exchange letters with Tyler Hoechlin and Henry Cavill, two fellows who have played Superman before me," he said in conversation with the People Magazine.

"They both, in their way, sort of refrained from giving advice. There’s not much advice that we can give, you know? You sort of have to do your own thing."

Corenswet continued, "But it was really wonderful to get words of encouragement from them and then to be able to write to them and talk about how appreciative I was of the way that they had stewarded the character in their time."

He went on to say that hearing back from the past actors, "was a special experience."

The actor did not only get a seal of approval from Cavill and Hoechlin but also received encouragement from Will Reeve, son of late Christopher Reeve - played Superman in 1978.

The Twisters actor shared that while it wouldn’t be accurate to say Reeves gave them his "stamp of approval," since he’d be "the first to say that’s not his place," his presence on the set (he will be making a special cameo in reboot), and visible excitement was deeply "encouraging sign" and "means a lot."

Superman will be releasing in theatres on July 11.
