Warm Bodies star Nicholas Hoult has recently opened up about joining Harry Potter franchise two decades after his audition for the movie adaptation.
Speaking on latest episode of Today Show on June 30, the host Craig Melvin revealed Nicholas previously auditioned for Daniel Radcliffe‘s role in the HP movie at the age of 15.
Now the HBO is coming up with TV adaptation of JK Rowling’s book series, so would Nicholas be interested to do it after 20 years?
The Nosferatu actor responded, “I don’t know,” noting that he previously worked with the show’s director, Mark Mylod, on the 2022 movie, The Menu.
However, Nicholas confessed, “I love Mark as a director and I love those stories. I think I’m a little bit too old to play Harry now, though.”
Earlier in the interview, Craig suggested that Nicholas could message Mark about joining the HP series.
“I have Mark’s phone number, so I can just text him and be like, ‘Dude, what’s up? Am I too old for Harry this time?’” quipped the actor.
Meanwhile, HBO announced that they would be bringing the Harry Potter franchise to the small screen in 2013.
“Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World,” stated Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO & Max Content, in a press statement at the time.
“In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and JK Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years,” it added.
