Quinta Brunson has shed light on the complicated filming schedule of the series.

In a recent interview with Bustle, Brunson revealed that the show's long filming schedule has made it challenging for some cast members to pursue other projects.

According to Brunson, known for ABC's hit Abbott Elementary, the show shoots for about seven months out of the year, which can be a significant obstacle for cast members who want to explore other opportunities.

"That being said, I have cast members who would love to pursue other projects, and our show is very time-consuming," Brunson shared. Despite the demanding schedule, the cast feels grateful to have a dedicated fanbase even after five seasons.

As for Brunson's own career, she's eager to play a new kind of character that's unlike her iconic role as Janine on Abbott Elementary

"Right now, I'm receiving scripts, and waiting for that moment that feels like, 'Oh man, this is exactly what I've been looking for,'" she said.

Brunson wants to use the success of Abbott Elementary to help launch other projects and is looking forward to playing against type.

The actress expressed her desire to move away from being typecast as a teacher or someone similar to Janine.

"I'm always interested in playing against type. I think that's any actor's dream. Right now my type is 'Janine' and 'teacher.' I'm looking forward to moving away from that a little bit," she said.
