Cynthia Erivo gearing up to produce action thriller ‘Saturation Point’
Cynthia Erivo teams up with Michael Bay, Brad Fuller for ‘Saturation Point’ production
Cynthia Erivo is set to embark on new journey after the success of blockbuster film Wicked.
The Oscar nominee will be producing a sci-fi action thriller Saturation Point, based on the novel of the same name, which is written by Adrian Tchaikovsky, per Variety.
Minnie Schedeen will adapt the screenplay of the book. The film follows Dr Jasmine Marks, who leads a search and rescue mission into The Zone, a section of rainforest along the equator with a climate inhospitable to intelligent life.
According to the logline, "As she pushes further into the wilderness, Dr Marks discovers The Zone is far deadlier than initially believed and not all forms of intelligent life are necessarily human."
In addition to Erivo, the film will also be produced by Michael Bay and Brad Fuller while Alex Ginno will executive produce.
As of now, Erivo is coming back as Elphaba in Wicked: For Good, the second half of Jon M. Chu-directed Wicked musical.
For her role, she was nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, SAG and even a BAFTA. The film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won two Oscars for costume design and production design.
Wicked: For Good is slated for release on November 21.
