Cynthia Erivo recalls connection with Jonathan Bailey
Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey co-stars in Oscar nominated film ‘Wicked’
Iconic star Cynthia Erivo kept mixing up her ties with co-star Jonathan Bailey.
Erivo and Bailey stars alongside Ariana Grande in blockbuster film Wicked.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Harriet star admitted that she kept telling people she went to drama school with Bailey because she feels like the two have known each other for years.
"I keep making the mistake and saying that he went to Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA)," she told the outlet.
Erivo continued, "In my head, I feel I've known him for such a long time that in my head we went to the same school. One day, he was like, 'Cyn, you keep telling people that we went to RADA together, but I didn't go to RADA.'"
In reality, Bailey never went to drama school but still has theatre credits such as Company, Les Misérables and Richard II, after being discovered by the Royal Shakespeare Company at a ballet class at the age of seven.
The Outsider actress praised her co-star’s work ethic and mentioned, "He loves working. Loves it! He's always searching for something, but he's playful at the same time, so the air is always light when you're around him."
Erivo and Bailey are set to share the screen once again for the second part of Wicked musical, Wicked: For Good, which is slated for release on November 21, 2025.
