Timothee Chalamet has recently been considered for Bond role after Dune director Denis Villeneuve joins 007 reboot.
A source revealed to DailyMail.com that Timothee “could be a part of a future Bond movie, but in no way shape or form will he be James Bond”.
Interestingly, the actor, who is known for playing Willy Wonka and Bob Dylan, won’t be Daniel Craig’s successor.
Sharing real reason for not considering Timothee for leading role, an insider told the outlet, “An American actor will not play Bond, it is not going to happen.”
“So that leaves Timothee out of the running for the lead,” added a source.
It is pertinent to mention that Denis will helm the next installment in the British spy franchise – the first after Amazon completed its massive $8.5 billion acquisition of MGM Studios and parted ways with longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
Meanwhile, new Bond director Denis clarified that he’s not going to reinvent the original. He’s here to honour it.
“To me, Bond is sacred territory,” said the movie-maker in a press statement shared via outlet.
Denis stated, “I intend to honour the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come.”
“This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honour,” he further said.
