Selena Gomez is reprising her iconic role as Alex Russo in the second season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, a spinoff of the hit Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place.
The announcement was made on June 27, 2025, via Instagram, where Gomez shared a photo of herself holding a wand with the caption, "Just feels right".
The second season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place promises new challenges for the Russo family. Justin Russo, played by David Henrie, is now tasked with training three young wizards, including Billie, Roman, and Milo, as they prepare for the Family Wizard Competition.
However, things take a complicated turn when Roman and Milo discover they have magical powers, making Billie no longer the only wizard in the house. As the stakes rise, a mysterious new threat emerges that could potentially unravel the Russo family forever.
The Single Soon crooner will not only be reprising her role as Alex Russo but also serving as an executive producer for the show.
This marks her second season involvement in the spinoff, having appeared in two episodes of the first season. Henrie, who plays Justin Russo, will also continue his role as a series regular and executive producer.
