'The Comeback' set to return to HBO for third season
HBO confirms the third season of 'The Comeback'
Valerie Cherish is getting another shot at the spotlight.
HBO just confirmed that The Comeback was renewed for a third season, almost ten years after the last one aired.
The popular sitcom first aired in June 2005 and now HBO has decided to bring it back one last time. The network confirmed that this will be the final season of the show.
The Comeback follows Lisa Kudrow as Valerie Cherish, a sitcom star trying to stay relevant in today’s Hollywood. The last season aired back in 2014, so fans have waited a long time for this return.
Lisa and Michael Patrick King said in a statement: "Valerie Cherish has found her way back to the current television landscape. Neither of us are surprised she did."
Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of comedy at HBO and Max, shared her excitement about the show’s return. She said she’s really looking forward to seeing what the new season brings.
Amy said: "No matter what the industry throws at her, Valerie Cherish is a survivor.
"On the 20th Anniversary of her debut, Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow have brilliantly scripted her return to HBO and we can’t wait to see that."
