Charlize Theron's daughters left in tears for this shocking reason

Charlize Theron recently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and shared a heartwarming story about her daughters' reaction to her new mullet hairdo for the upcoming film The Old Guard 2. 

Theron revealed that her daughters, Jackson and August, were shocked and left in tears when they saw her new look.

The Oscar winner described the moment when her daughters walked into the bathroom where she was getting her hair cut and colored. 

"I was in my bathroom and I was getting it cut and it had been already colored, and I just remember looking over and they both came into the room really excited, and then they just both froze," she said. 

"And they just went... and one started crying. One [of my kids] literally started bawling her eyes out."

Theron took the opportunity to have a conversation with her daughter about individuality and self-expression. "I had to actually sit down with her and say, 'We all get to be who we want to be, and right now, Mom wants to wear a mullet. I don’t tell you what to do with your hair,'" she said. 

Despite Theron's explanation, her daughters still weren't too fond of the new hairdo, with one of them simply saying, "I still don't like it."

Theron mentioned that her daughters are "mostly very girly" and prefer her to look like a princess. However, Theron's personal style tends to lean more towards edgy and masculine looks, often wearing jeans and a T-shirt. Her daughter often requests her to wear dresses for school functions, with Theron joking, "When I go to school functions, my daughter’s always like, 'Mom, can you please wear a dress?'"

The actress stars alongside Uma Thurman, Henry Golding, KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the upcoming film. 

The Old Guard 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on July 2.
