As The Social Network Part II is officially in works, one big question remains on everyone’s mind: Will Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield return over a decade later to reprise their iconic roles?

The sequel to the acclaimed 2010 film, which chronicled the meteoric rise of Facebook, is moving forward with original’s screenwriter Aaron Sorkin writing the script.

The Oscar-winning screenwriter will also be stepping into the director’s chair. However, no casting announcements have been made yet.

As of now, there’s been no confirmation regarding the return of any original cast members.

Eisenberg portrayed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, a role that earned him an Academy Award nomination.

Meanwhile, Garfield starred as Eduardo Saverin, Zuckerberg’s former best friend and Facebook co-founder.

The original film also featured Justin Timberlake as Napster founder Sean Parker, and Armie Hammer in a dual role as the Winklevoss twins, who famously accused Zuckerberg of stealing their idea for the social media platform.

Directed by David Fincher, The Social Network was released by Sony Pictures in 2010 and based on Ben Mezrich’s book The Accidental Billionaires.

With The Social Network Part II officially in development now, fans are eagerly awaiting casting news and whether the original stars will return to revisit one of the most influential tech dramas of the 21st century.
