Emily in Paris star Thalia Besson is set to return as the deceitful villain, Geneviève in the upcoming fifth season.

Daughter of French director Luc Besson, is joining, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who plays Emily’s (Lily Collins) nonchalant boss Sylvie, Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), as well as Ashley Park who stars as Emily’s best friend, Mindy Chen.

Also returning are Emily Cooper’s new Italian love interest, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), and her on-and-off boyfriends, French chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and a Brit Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).

In the previous season, Besson’s character is the second villain following Camille, Gabriel’s on-and-off girlfriend, played by Camille Razat in the first four seasons of the show.

Geneviève is American-French stepdaughter of Sylvie born out of wedlock. On graduation from NYU she moved to Paris in season four and got hired at Agence Grateau where Emily took her under her wing.

However, Geneviève soon starts to attempt to steal her clients and seduce Gabriel. He ultimately turns her down and tries to win Emily back. Season four ends on cliffhanger as Gabriel surprises Emily by showing up at her doorstep in Rome.

Season five began filming in Rome last month and has now returned to Paris for further shoot.

The release date of Emily in Paris is yet to be announced.
