John Cena makes emotional statement about his 'retirement'

John Cena rose to fame as a professional wrestler ever since he signed to WWE since 2001.

The wrestler turned into actor is currently busy promoting his new film, Heads of State along with Idris Elba.

In his latest interview with Extra, the 48-year-old actor opened that he will be retiring this year from WWE, but he made sure that he will be a part of the media company as an ambassador until they let him go.

In a statement, John added, "This is my final year in the WWE. I'm retiring this year. We're about halfway through, so I look forward to officially closing the book on in-ring competition.”

The Suicide Squad star continued, "I will forever be an ambassador of the WWE. I'll be part of that family till they ask me to leave."

Cena’s new movie Heads of State also features Priyanka Chopra and Jack Quaid in pivotal roles.

The action thriller is directed by Ilya Naishuller and is slated to release on Prime Video on July 2, 2025.

Meanwhile, John was last seen in the tenth sequel of the globally acclaimed "Fast Saga" along with Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa and Ludacris.
