John Cena takes inspiration from real-life US presidents for ‘Heads of State’?
‘Heads of State’ features John Cena, Idris Elba as US President and UK Prime Minster
WWE famed John Cena, who turned into an actor, has taken over a challenging role in the upcoming film, Heads of State.
Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the action thriller features Cena alongside Idris Elba playing US President Will Derringer and UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke respectively.
While talking about the new movie, the 48-year-old revealed that he did not base his character on any specific real-life presidents.
Rather, the characterization came from a very simple place.
In conversation with Extra, the F9 actor stated, "When you attach a name like the President of the United States, just when I say those words, everyone has a vision of what that means to them.
Cena unveiled that he took terms like "aloof, super positive, really stubborn, overly aggressive” and put them all together to make his character.
Last but not the least, he made sure the character should look "coachable."
"When the director comes up and is like, ‘Hey, all those ideas, throw them out. Let's try one like this.’ As long as you're coachable, we'll end up getting what the director wants, which is hopefully the best movie”, said the Peacemaker actor.
Heads of State also features Priyanka Chopra and Jack Quaid in key roles. The film is slated to release on July 2.
