'General Hospital' star Joe Marinelli dies at 68
Late actor Joe Marinelli is best known for his performances in ''General Hospital' and 'Santa Barbara'
General Hospital famed actor Joe Marinelli has passed away at the age of 68.
The veteran TV actor breathed his last over the weekend, his agent Julie Smith told Entertainment Weekly. Additionally, Joe’s wife Jean Marinelli, who is a musician, revealed the cause of her husband’s death.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Joe's wife of nearly 34 years confirmed her longtime partner died on Sunday, June 22, in Burbank after a battle with stomach cancer.
In addition to best known for his role as criminal Joseph Sorel on General Hospital from 1999 to 2001, the late actor portrayed cross-dressing gangster Bunny Tagliatti, between 1988 and 1990, on Santa Barbara and also worked on Guiding Light.
The medical drama famed actor appeared in a plethora of popular other series including Desperate Housewives, ER, Hill Street Blues, House, Insecure, L.A. Law, The King of Queens, The Offer, The Practice and The West Wing.
More recently Joe did 22 episodes of The Morning Show outside of his primetime.
In the Apple TV+ series starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon as TV anchors, Joe played the titular news program's director, Donny Spagnoli, between its first season in 2019 and its third in 2023.
