American actress Sarah Michelle Gellar shares rare insights on ‘Buffy’ reboot
Sarah Michelle Gellar has recently made surprising admission about the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair Italia, the Scooby-Doo actress, who played the titular vampire-slaying heroine in the 1997 series, expressed her desire for a massive Buffy reunion in the reboot.
Interestingly, Sarah would like to bring all the characters from the previous series, even if they were no longer alive in the original.
“It will be lighter than the last few seasons of the original,” remarked the 48-year-old.
The Grudge actress, who is also executive producing the new reboot, pointed out, “We will try to find a balance between new and old characters.”
“My dream is to bring back everyone who has died, but space will have to be made for new stories as well,” declared Sarah.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Dexter: Original Sin star shared interesting detail she would like to include in her new Buffy series.
“One of the surprising aspects of Buffy is that it’s always been a crossover series,” mentioned Sarah.
Therefore, the actress added that they would like to figure out “how to modernise the themes of the series, especially what it means to feel like an outsider in a world dominated by social media”.
“What we want to explore are the space-time boundaries that affect society today,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, the key details about the reboot have not been disclosed as of yet.
