'Adolescence' actor admits learning 'important' lesson from Stephen Graham's series

Ashley Walters has confessed that Stephen Graham’s Adolescence has taught a major lesson as regarding parenting.
Netflix backed miniseries starring Graham and Owen Cooper in the lead roles, follows the story of a 13-year-old boy named Jamie Miller, who is accused of murdering his female classmate and undergoes a complexed investigation.
The show prompted a global conversation around internet safety as it highlighted the "Incel culture" and "bullying on social media".
While speaking with Men’s Health UK, Walters shared that he has a son, who is an animator and hence he spends a lot of time on iPad using multiple animation software.
“But sometimes, he’s not animating when we think he is”, said the 42-year-old actor.
The British actor admitted that the show made him realize that children should have a limited screen time, therefore, he started to draw back his son from its excessive usage.
Ashley said, "We’ve been very conscious about that and drawing back on his screen time. Half the week, he can’t even touch his device.”
"Then actually, it’s about me stepping in as a dad and saying, 'let’s go fishing, let’s do more stuff’, so he doesn’t want to be on there as much as he is.”
The Bullet Boy star played DI Luke Bascom be in Adolescence, who investigates the murder mystery.
