Nicholas Hoult makes shocking revelation ahead of 'Superman' release
'Superman', starring David Corenswet, is set to release on July 8
Nicholas Hoult will be portraying the DC comics villain Lex Luthor in the upcoming Superman movie.
Directed by James Gunn, the 2025 superhero film is set to feature David Corenswet in the lead role.
Meanwhile, Hoult is going to portray the DC antagonist for the first time.
While speaking about the new Superman film, the Nosferatu actor confessed that he had an "instinct" that he could play "Lex Luthor."
Even though, he was auditioning for the lead role, but it eventually went over to David.
The 35-year-old star opened, "I remember reading the script for the first time and there was a tiny little piece of my instinct that was like, 'You might be a good Lex', or, 'You might have fun playing this character.”
Nicholas confessed that he brushed aside his instincts, which was not a good thing.
“So, I went and did the test and enjoyed that, but then when James (Gunn) called me (and told me he wanted me for Lex Luthor), I didn't say anything at first – I just cackled!”
“Because there was an instant flash in my brain where I went, 'Oh, you knew this would be best”, he told Empire Magazine.
Slated to release on July 8, the upcoming Gunn’s directorial also features Rachel Brosnahan, Isabel Merced, Nathan Fillion and Milly Alcock.
