Margaret Cho reflects on decades-long rift with Ellen DeGeneres in a new interview
American comedian Margaret Cho has recently made shocking revelation about fellow standup comedian, Ellen DeGeneres amid decades-long feud.
While speaking on Kelly Mantle Show podcast on June 20, the comedian slammed Ellen, calling her “weird”.
“Ellen was really weird and not nice to me for most of my career,” declared the 56-year-old.
Margaret told the podcast host, “I opened for her in the 1980s, when she was a headliner in comedy clubs. Later, when I would do her talk show in the 2000s, she would act like we just met!”
All That We Love star mentioned, “I’m like, ‘Bitch, what?’ That’s weird. We go way back. It’s so creepy and weird!”
Elsewhere on the show, Margaret recalled an incident while she attended a David Bowie concert in a “giant Chinese emperor outfit”.
Although David praised her attire during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show the next day, the entire anecdote was reportedly cut from the episode.
“It made me so mad,” she mentioned.
Margaret recounted, “The producer, who was a really good friend of mine, had to call and tell me, ‘I can’t believe she did this but she cut it out of the show.”
“But you need to know that he was going on and on about your outfit! God said your name,” pointed out the Hurricane Bianca actress.
Margaret stated that it’s “so rude” of Ellen, and she didn’t know whether it was personal.
However, the comedian insisted she would take it personally “just because I decided to”.
