Chace Crawford reflected on his time on Gossip Girl and why he never re-watched the show since it ended.

Crawford played Nate Archibald, a son of a powerful family who often struggles with expectations, loyalty and finding his own identity.

During the launch event of his own fashion brand, American Dream Clubhouse and The Boys star looked back on the "cultural relevance" his career-defining show continues to have years after wrapping it up.

"In a way [Gossip Girl has] kind of become almost classic," he said in a conversation with the People magazine. "It really was of its time, though. It was just before social media, a little bit ahead of its time in that regard. But in watching, it's very campy. I forget how kind of campy it was. It's kind of fun in that way."

"It's the music too," he adds of Gossip Girl's cultural relevance. "Before it aired, they gave me a copy of the pilot to my parents, and my mom and dad probably watched it 20 times. Those songs from the pilot are so ingrained."

However, he went on to admit that he never really re-watched it, joking that he will be "terrified. It's a bit embarrassing."

The 2007 drama revolves around a group of wealthy students at an exclusive prep school in Manhattan’s Upper East Side terrorized by a mysterious and vicious blogger (narrated by Kristen Bell) who spilled all of their secrets.

The six season show which concluded in 2012, also paved the way towards success for Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Penn Badgley.
