Bruce Springsteen has shared his thoughts on watching Jeremy Allen White portray him in the forthcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere

The film, directed by Scott Cooper, centers on the time period when Springsteen made his 1982 record Nebraska, a deeply personal album that touches on some of the most painful days of his life.

Springsteen told Rolling Stone that there was "some unusualness" to watching the project be filmed because it involves "some of the most painful days of my life."

He would often take time away from set if there was a scene coming up that was "really deeply personal." "Well, some of the scenes I wasn't at," he said. "I wanted the actors to feel completely free, and I didn't want to get in the way."

The first footage from Deliver Me From Nowhere debuted earlier this year at CinemaCon, and the official trailer dropped on Wednesday, giving audiences a first look at Jeremy Allen White's depiction of Springsteen.

The trailer features White performing Springsteen's beloved 1975 single Born to Run.

When asked what it was like watching White play him, Springsteen joked, "I'm sure it's much worse for the actor than for me."

He added that White was "very, very tolerant" of him on set and that it was "just fun" to watch the film being made.

Deliver Me From Nowhere is adapted from Warren Zanes' 2023 book of the same name and will hit theaters on October 24. The film features a star-studded cast, including Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, Stephen Graham, and Odessa Young
