The 28 Years Later director, Danny Boyle, opened up about the unforeseen complications he encountered during filming.

The post-apocalyptic thriller follows a group of survivalists living amongst those infected by the Rage virus. The latest addition is the third instalment in the zombie-apocalyptic franchise, which includes 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later.

At the film's London premiere, Boyle recalled filming a naked zombie scene amid the intimacy coordinator's guidelines.

Since the film takes 28 years later following society's exposure to the virus there wouldn’t be any clothing left on the victims of the virus.

"I mean, if you're recently infected, you'd have some clothes, but if you've been infected for a long time, the clothes would just disintegrate with the way that you behave," Boyle explained to People Magazine.

However, when it came to the now 14-year-old Alfie Williams playing the key role, Spike, son of Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), fully naked scene, people were not allowed to strip down on the film's set under the Child Sex Offenses Act.

The filmmaker was made aware that no one was allowed to be naked on set with an underage child actor present since it would violate the act.

"We never knew that going in, it was a nightmare," Boyle added.

He continued, "Interestingly, because there was a 12-year-old boy on set, you're not allowed for anybody to be naked, not really naked, so they look naked, but it's all prosthetics."

In addition to Taylor-Johnson and Williams, the cast also includes, Ralph Fiennes, Jodie Comer, Erin Kellyman and Edvin Ryding.

28 Years Later is slated to be released on June 20.
