Birgitte, the wife of Prince Richard, who is King Charles' first cousin looked graceful in an elegant white dress, complemented by a classic pearl necklace and matching gloves.
She completed her refined look with a wide-brimmed hat created by Barnaby Horn, an emerging milliner and recent graduate of the King's Foundation.
Later, the the official Instagram handle of the British royal family highlighted this thoughtful detail.
The palace stated: 'The Duchess of Gloucester wears a hat created by King's Foundation graduate, Barnaby Horn, to today's Royal Ascot.'
They went to share, 'Barnaby has recently completed the @chanelofficial and @kingsfdn Metiers d' Art Millinery Fellowship in partnership with @le19m, which takes place at @highgrovegarden.'
Royal Ascot is one of Britain's most prestigious annual horse racing events, takes place in Berkshire, England, from Tuesday, June 17 to Saturday, June 21.
