Late Dave Scott choreographed the cult classic 'You Got Served' and 'Step Up 2: The Streets'
Dancing with the Stars choreographer Dave Scott has passed away at the age of 52.
His death was announced earlier this week via a heartfelt statement shared on his official Instagram account
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Dave Scott, who touched so many lives with his warmth, kindness, and spirit," read the post on Monday, June 16, remembering Scott, known for his work on So You Think You Can Dance beginning in Season 3.
Accompanied by a photo of the late artist, they wrote in the captio, "Today we have lost an icon, a legend, a father, and a dear friend. The weight of this loss will send ripples through time. But his memory and legacy will continue to live on.
Following the announcement, friends, colleagues, and former collaborators flooded the comments section with condolences and memories.
Glee alums Kevin McHale and Harry Shum Jr. were among those who paid tribute.
In addition to his TV work, Scott choreographed the cult classic You Got Served, Step Up 2: The Streets, and several other major dance projects.
His influence helped shape an entire generation of street and hip-hop dance in mainstream media.
Notably, a GoFundMe page has been created by Neko Scott to help raise funds for the late dancer's memorial services.
