Jon Hamm has recently opened up about his strong aversion to playing good guy character in the movies.
In a new interview with W Magazine, the Top Gun: Maverick star revealed why he’s fond of playing bad character onscreen.
“I think people can relate to characters making bad decisions, because we’ve all made them,” responded the 54-year-old.
Jon mentioned that he’s more into playing the bad guy in movies and TV projects.
“My history of characters isn’t exactly the saints; it’s more on the sinner side of the equation,” explained the Baby Driver actor.
However, Jon noted, “Superman can be kind of boring. No offense to the new Superman [David Corenswet], who I hope is a delightful person.”
The Landman actor also argued that his Mad Men character Don Draper was more of a villain than a victim while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter.
Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Mad Men series finale, Jon pointed out that people “thought that Don was this paragon of masculinity or whatever”.
“There were so many think-pieces, and you go, ‘Wait, he was a mess.’ And I was very happy with how Matt [Weiner] ended the story, but it was also hard,” mentioned the Fargo actor.
Meanwhile, Jon also shared that he’s fan of Marvel Comics and comics in general.
“I think there are tons of stories that I’m familiar with, at least, that are still out there to be told,” he added.
