Anne Burrell spent a day with a viral Brooklyn personality before the chef's sudden death at 55
Anne Burrell was beaming with joy in her final social media post, shared just five days before her sudden death at the age of 55.
In the days leading up to Tuesday, June 17, when the celebrity chef was found "unconscious and unresponsive" in her New York City apartment around 7:50 a.m., she spent time enjoying the New York City.
During one of her last outings, she crossed paths with a viral Brooklyn star Elizabeth Eaton Rosenthal, also known as The Green Lady.
The Food Network star posted a cheerful selfie with the 84-year-old NYC fixture to her Instagram grid on Thursday, June 12, writing, "I ran into @greenladyofbrooklyn in my neighborhood today!! I’m not going to lie- I have been keeping an eye out for her."
She continued playfully, "I may or may not have followed her down the street for a minute. She is just lovely!!! #ilovewhatido #luckygirl," wrapping up her playful caption with three green heart emojis.
The next day, Rosenthal replied warmly in the comments, saying, "Hi Ann [green heart emoji] it was so much fun meeting you [green heart emoji] see you again soon in the neighborhood [green heart emoji]."
She also extended an invitation to the Worst Cooks in America host to visit her garden and pick figs once they were ready, a sweet gesture that sadly never came to pass.
That Instagram post marked Burrell’s final public appearance before her unexpected passing.
According to police, EMS responded to a 911 call and pronounced her dead at the scene. The exact cause of death has not yet been released.
