Jennifer Love Hewitt brings back horror in 'chilling' teaser
Jennifer Love Hewitt thrills fans with 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' teaser
I Know What You Did Last Summer has thrilled fans by teasing Jennifer Love Hewitt’s return to the iconic horror-crime franchise.
Sony Pictures dropped the new trailer for the upcoming installment of the 1997 original on Tuesday, June 17.
The Ghost Whisperer alum, who garnered recognition for her role in the 2005 drama, is set to reprise her iconic character, Julie James, in the highly anticipated sequel.
Jennifer, 46, who portrayed one of the sole survivors of the 1997 Southport massacre, is seen in the teaser delivering her famous final-girl line from the original, “What are you waiting for?”
Alongside the Heartbreakers star, Freddie Prinze Jr. is set to reprise his role as Ray Bronson, joining the five friends as they face off against a mysterious killer.
According to the official synopsis, “When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer … and is hell-bent on revenge.”
In an exclusive interview with People, Hewitt shared that the film is filled with “nostalgia”.
Speaking to the outlet, she said, “There’s a lot of ‘90s in there, so get excited because the ‘90s are back again! And there’s lots of twists and turns. I don’t think people are going to expect anything that’s coming.”
I Know What You Did Last Summer – starring Hewitt, Prinze Jr., Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, and Jonah Hauer-King – is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
For the unversed, the horror-suspense is slated for release on July 18.
