Brad Pitt reflected on the unique approach and creative path the F1 film took.
In the film, Pitt takes on the role of a retired Formula One driver who returns to the track to help save his friend’s team while mentoring a young driver, played by Damson Idris.
In a conversation with RTÉ at the film’s premiere in New York’s Times Square, the Troy star raved about the bold movie Hollywood made with this project.
"I can't believe that after all this time, I find something like this. It was just this audacious idea of Joe Kosinski to put us on the track and embed us in the F1 racing season," he said.
“F1 opened the doors for us and we have this to show for it," Pitt added.
Pitt’s co-star Idris also shared his unforgettable experience on set saying, "These are things that people look back on throughout, hopefully, a long prosperous career."
He continued, "They say, 'You know, I remember when I worked with Brad Pitt, I remember I worked with Javier Bardem, Joe Kosinski, Jerry Bruckheimer, Kerry Condon.'"
The film, directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, is a blend of scripted scenes and some original real-life racing scenes from actual Grand Prix events in Abu Dhabi, Mexico City and more.
F1 is slated for release on June 27.
