Robert De Niro, Whoopi Goldberg share decades-long friendship

Robert De Niro and Whoopi Goldberg’s friendship has gradually become stronger over the decades.

Reflecting on their bond, a source spilled to Closer that both Whoopi and Robert totally “treasure” each other.

Although the Sister Act actress knows everybody in show business, including billionaire moguls and tons of A-list actors, but people who have earned her respect are fewer and Robert is “at the absolute top of it,” said an insider.

Another source revealed that The Intern actor “trusts Whoopi implicitly”.

“They both have this New York energy from the '80s and a million mutual friends who didn't survive even close to as long as they have,” explained an insider.

For the unversed, the actor was eager to relaunch the movie industry in New York following the pandemic.

So, Whoopi was right there “on the front lines” supporting him at a time when several celebrities were scared to leave the house.
