The iconic children animated film Toy Story, has unveiled its new antagonist for the upcoming fifth instalment.

Pixar fans already had known for a while that the film was about Toy vs Tech, now the production has finally offered the first look to its tech-based toys.

During the France’s Annecy Animation Festival, the new look of Toy Story 5 showed Bullseye, Buzz, and Jessie looking at Bonnie's new tablet, named LilyPad, in disapproval.

Earlier this month, in an interview with the CBR, Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter opened up about how LilyPad and the toys will not see eye to eye on how their kid, Bonnie, should be raised.

"Bonnie is now 8, and she’s become more concerned about being socially connected and making friends, which is why her parents agreed to get her this LilyPad," Docter revealed.

Explaining what Lilypad is, he continued that it works like an iPad allowing "Bonnie to chat with her friends and play games and other things, too."

In contrast to the cheerful look of Lily in the image, Docter said that she is like "a bit sneaky and prickly to be around because in her mind, it’s a lot better to be socialized, and Bonnie needs to move on from toys."

Previously, the fourth part ended on Woody leaving Bonnie and other toys for a life adventure with Bo Peep, helping lost toys in need. In his absence Jessie has been promoted to Sheriff and Buzz her assistant deputy.

Docter teased that given the tension among toys and the new item, “Woody is called back to help.”

Toy Story 5 is slated for release on June 19, 2026.
