‘How to Train Your Dragon’ star discusses the role of the film in the society
How to Train Your Dragon star Nico Parker, opened up their filming experience and how the story of Viking Hiccup and his dragon Toothless resonates with audiences of all ages.
Parker played the role of Astrid Hofferson, the love interest of Hiccup Haddock (Mason Thames) in the live action version of hit adventure/ fantasy.
In conversation with the Variety, while reflecting on her role in the film, she said, "One of the powerful things about the film is that it makes people feel seen."
"Despite the element that is otherworldly, whether you’re a Hiccup or an Astrid, a lot of people are touched by it," Parker added.
The Last of Us star went on to gush about her character, revealing that Astrid’s bravery inspired her off-screen.
"As much as it’s fun to do cartwheels and beat up some dragons as Astrid, the most empowering thing I’ve learned was to be open and willing to change, and it’s something that I felt was prevalent in this movie and with this character, and it’s something that I’ve carried with me from filming," she said.
Parker continued, "She’s a boss b***h."
How to Train Your Dragon live-action version is now running in theatres.
