Julia Michaels talks in high praise for best pal and collaborator Maren Morris: ‘girl’s girl’
Julia Michaels opened up about her strong bond with Maren Morris and the unwavering support she receives from her friend.
The two musicians first collaborated on Circle Around This Town - the lead single from Morris' 2020 album Humble Quest.
"She is truly one of the most wonderful women I've ever met in the music industry," the What a Time singer raved about her Morris in the recent episode of PEOPLE in 10.
"She's so down-to-earth, so humble, so kind. Such a girl's girl, like always rooting for people that she loves," Michaels added. "I feel like it's rare, but it's really beautiful."
Recently, the duo released music video for Scissors, where Michaels and Morris castrate an ex with pair of small scissors. They also performed the track at Coachella.
Speaking to Rolling Stone at that time, Michaels described the song as a feeling of being "unbothered" as a relationship meets its end.
Previously, they also collaborated for Cut! a song on Morris five-track EP Intermission, which is about appearing picture-perfect and put-together and the unravelling that happens at the end of the day.
"It’s a cathartic release that doesn’t require secrecy, but there are worldly expectations to keep it together despite your feelings," Morris said of the song. "This song gives me permission to fall apart."
