‘White Lotus’ star Patrick Schwarzenegger is the top contender for ‘American Psycho’ remake
Patrick Schwarzenegger has been dropping serious hints that he’s ready to take on one of the most iconic killer roles in cinema.
With the American Psycho remake looming on the horizon, fans and insiders are speculating that the White Lotus star could be the perfect fit to step into Christian Bale’s shoes as Patrick Bateman.
As the online buzz reached a fever pitch, the 31-year-old actor weighed in on the growing speculation, getting candid about his interest in the cult classic.
"I’d love nothing more," he posted on X (formerly Twitter) in April, responding to a fan who suggested he take a crack at the role made famous by Bale.
He further fueled the potential casting when asked by The Hollywood Reporter if American Psycho was high on his career goals.
Schwarzenegger didn’t directly name the film, instead, he expressed a desire to work with director Luca Guadagnino, who signed in October to remake American Psycho.
"What’s on the very top of my list is to work with someone like Luca," Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s son said, highlighting his admiration for the acclaimed director.
While the actor’s comments are stirring up plenty of conversation, sources close to the film’s production say that the Grown Ups 2 actor is definitely on the radar of the American Psycho team.
Notably, before Schwarzenegger emerged as a frontrunner, Elvis star Austin Butler was briefly rumoured to be the top choice.
