Kate Middleton is staying close to her passions as she gradually returns to royal duties, just days before she will join her family for Trooping the Colours.
On Tuesday, June 10, the Princess of Wales made a solo visit to the newly inaugurated V&E East Storehouse, marking her first public outing since returning from a half-term break with her and Prince Willima’s three kids, George, Charlotte, and Louis.
Opened to the public on May 31st, the Storehouse aimed to revolutionalise the traditional museum set up by making its display pieces accessible to everyone. Without any glass barriers, the public can get close to the pieces, which are arranged to tell a story.
“Great to see these incredible collections are now accessible to everyone, allowing us to enjoy our nation’s exceptional talent and history,” read a social media statement by the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account.
Stunning in a chic Alexander McQueen blue suit, Princess Catherine toured the East Storehouse and spoke to Senior Curator Dr. Georgia Haseldine and Deputy Director Tim Reeve. During her visit, she learned about the museum’s vast archive and how the pieces are collected, conserved and displayed.
Kate has harboured a longtime passion for the arts, having studied Art History at St. Andrews University (which is where she met Prince William).
