Justin Baldoni hasn’t accepted defeat against Blake Lively just yet.
Although his defamation lawsuits against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, publicist Leslie Sloan, and The New York Times were dismissed on June 9 after a months-long battle, Baldoni is determined to keep fighting, per the Daily Mail.
“His team might amend their lawsuit as this is not over, the fight continues,” a source close to Baldoni told the outlet.
The saga began when Lively sued her It Ends With Us director and co-star for sexual harassment in November 2024, with Baldoni denying the allegations and countersuing for defamation soon after.
Now, the court has ruled that there isn’t sufficient evidence to prove defamation. However, Judge Lewis J Liman’s order allows Baldoni to amend some of his claims by June 23.
“Even though it is a stumble, Justin still has full trust with his legal team,” the source noted, adding that the Jane the Virgin star is “looking to figure out how to move forward from this current setback.”
After Baldoni’s defamation lawsuit was dismissed, the Gossip Girl alum issued an emotional statement on social media.
“While the suit against me was defeated, so many don’t have the resources to fight back,” Lively, 37, wrote on her Instagram stories, describing the “pain” of Baldoni’s retaliatory lawsuit.
She continued that she was “more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman’s rights to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity, and their story.”
