Rebel Wilson has reignited hopes for a fourth installment of the Pitch Perfect franchise, sharing fresh updates on the project's development.
In an interview with The Guardian, the actress revealed, "We hear rumors all the time. I know Universal is developing some scripts." Wilson, who played the iconic Fat Amy in the musical comedy series, acknowledged the growing fanbase and the persistent buzz around a potential sequel.
"The fanbase for Pitch Perfect is so awesome and keeps growing as younger people are introduced to it. So, hopefully – there's a huge desire for another movie," Wilson added, hinting that the franchise may not be over yet.
Her comments come after she previously revealed that Universal Pictures was working on a script for Pitch Perfect 4.
Wilson's enthusiasm is shared by her co-star Anna Kendrick, who played Beca in the trilogy. Kendrick expressed her readiness to return to the franchise, telling People magazine, "Oh, my God, I know I would love [a sequel]. I feel like Rebel is really like the steam engine of everything. So as long as she keeps saying it might happen, I'll believe it."
The last Pitch Perfect film was released in 2017, but with the fan demand stronger than ever and scripts reportedly in development, the Barden Bellas may be gearing up for one more unforgettable performance.
