Lindsay Lohan reunites with 'Parent Trap' star Elaine Hendrix after 27 years
Elaine Hendrix appears in 'Freakier Friday' for short cameo with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis
Lindsay Lohan had a nostalgic reunion with her The Parent Trap co-star Elaine Hendrix after 27 years.
Hendrix played Meredith Blake in The Parent Trap, the scheming fiancée of Nick Parker (Denis Quaid). She becomes the main antagonist when the twin sisters, Annie and Hallie (both played by Lindsay Lohan), team up to sabotage her and unite their parents.
Lohan and Hendrix met on the set Freakier Friday, where the latter appeared for a cameo role, Blake Kale, who works for a magazine that is featuring a pop star mentored by Lohan's Anna Coleman, who now works at a record label.
Hendrix told Entertainment Weekly she didn't maintain much contact with 11-year-old Lohan because of their age difference.
"Loosely, between, we reunited during the pandemic to do a Parent Trap reunion with Katie Couric, so I saw her then. But, that was online," she recalled, noting that a text from her long-time friend, collaborator, and Freakier Friday director Nisha Ganatra unexpectedly brought her and Lohan back together.
"I was like, girl, you know I'll show up for you to do anything," Hendrix added.
Retracing the experience of meeting her rom-com co-star, the Superstar actress said, "I got to physically see her, and we spent a lot of time together on set, hanging out, reminiscing, and catching up. Now, we’re better about staying in touch with one another."
Freakier Friday, also starring Manny Jacinto, Vanessa Bayer, Mark Harmon, Rosalind Chao, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Chad Michael Murray, is slated for release on August 8.
