‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ stars Mia Goth opposite Ryan Gosling’s lead role
Mia Goth stars in villainous role in director Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter
Mia Goth has officially joined Ryan Gosling in Star Wars: Starfighter, the upcoming feature film directed by Shawn Levy. Production is set to kick off this fall in England, with the film eyeing a theatrical release on May 28, 2027.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Gosling will lead the project, which is currently keeping most plot details under wraps. What’s known so far is that he’ll portray a character tasked with protecting a young charge from dangerous forces.
Goth is stepping into the role of one of those attackers.
Interestingly, it’s the same part actress Mikey Madison was previously in talks for—until negotiations reportedly fell apart due to financial disagreements. Described as a high-stakes character, Goth’s addition brings a fresh intensity to the villain lineup.
Best known for her standout performances in Ti West’s horror trilogy X, Pearl, and the upcoming MaXXXine, Goth has steadily built a loyal following with her bold, genre-defying roles.
Her performances have spanned settings from the 1910s to the 1980s, showcasing her versatility across time and tone.
Up next, she’s set to appear in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, alongside Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi. She also holds a mystery role in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, adding to a growing list of high-profile collaborations.
The news of Goth’s casting was first reported by The InSneider newsletter, signaling another exciting chapter in the expanding Star Wars universe.
