Meghan Markle receives support from Hollywood actress amid dance video backlash
Meghan Markle sparks reactions after posting pre-delivery dance video featuring Prince Harry
Meghan Markle received support from an American actress after facing serious backlash over her dance video with Prince Harry.
For the unversed, on the occasion of Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday, the Duchess of Sussex released a video in which she was seen dancing in her hospital room before her daughter's arrival.
Meghan and Harry danced at Starrkeisha's The Baby Momma Dance, which was a TikTok trend.
Alongside her now-viral video, Meghan wrote, "Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work - there was only one thing left to do!"
Soon after the Duchess' new post, a controversy stirred on social media as many calling it a 'cringe' move.
In Meghan's defence, a US TV star and singer Candiace Dillard penned a message, calling out "misogynoir" attacks on the Duchess.
She reposted a fan's message, which reads, "No woman 9 months pregnant moves that way. And that belly is lumpy and Meg moves it around like a sack of jelly beans."
In response, Candiace wrote, "Where is the uncomfortable mom-to-be? Because this woman has no clue what it feels like to be in labour or even induced. Induced moms are nervous about the pain!"
She added, "Actually, at 9 months pregnant, I was leg pressing three times my weight, doing pull-ups twice my weight and walking several miles on a treadmill so st** and just say you hate that a Black woman married a white prince."
