Molly Gordon finally broke silence to the public buzz surrounding her and her The Bear co-star Jeremy Allen White.
More than eight months after the two were photographed sharing an intimate moment in California, the actress addressed how fast online speculation can spiral.
“With the internet, I just think—I even see it in myself as a fan of things,” she shared in a June 5 interview with Vanity Fair, “we’re just a more judgmental society.”
The 29-year-old's comment comes months after photos of her and Jeremy went viral in September, showing the duo kissing on the street, on the birthday of Jeremy’s former girlfriend, Rosalía.
The dating rumours didn’t slow down in the months that followed.
In October, Jeremy and Molly were seen leaving dinner together in New York City’s West Village. Later that same month, Jeremy—who shares two daughters, Ezer and Dolores, with ex-wife Addison Timlin—was spotted at a Yankees playoff game with Molly and her father, director Bryan Gordon.
Though they weren’t photographed side by side in the crowd, both posed separately toward the end of the game, fueling even more speculation.
While their real-life connection appears to be growing, their on-screen romance hasn’t had the same luck.
In season two of The Bear, Jeremy’s character, Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, rekindles a relationship with his childhood crush, Claire Dunlap, played by Molly. But by the season’s end, the relationship hit a rough patch that seems to carry over into the upcoming third season.
Still, Jeremy hasn’t lost hope for Carmy and Claire. Speaking to reporters after The Bear won five Golden Globes earlier this year, he reflected on what’s next.
“I think Claire is so lovely and kind to Carmy,” he said. “I think she deserves an apology at the very least, so I hope there’s some version of that when I read the scripts.”
