Dakota Jonshon breaks cover without engagement ring after Chris Martin split

Dakota Johnson ditched her engagement ring as she was spotted in NYC, marking her first outing since her split with her longtime partner Chris Martin.

According to the Daily Mail, the Madame Web actress was seen walking through New York City’s Tribeca neighbourhood on Wednesday, June 4 — just hours after TMZ broke the news that she had called it quits with the Coldplay frontman.

Johnson kept things casual during the outing, wearing a tan sleeveless top, loose brown pants, and a wide-brimmed sunhat. Notable, her signature emerald ring was missing from her hand.

While breakup rumours have followed the couple for months, her team had previously shut down the split claims. In August 2024, Johnson’s rep told Us Weekly, “The reports are not true. They are happily together.”

The on-off couple — who began dating in late 2017 — have always kept a low profile.

Their most recent public appearance was in Malibu last month, and earlier this year, they were photographed holding hands in India and attending a Hindu prayer ceremony at Mumbai’s Babulnath Temple.

Though they briefly broke up in 2019, they quickly reconciled. Whether history repeats itself remains to be seen.

However, as per a new source who spoke to People magazine, “it feels final this time.”
