Lena Dunham looked back at her dating life before she finally met her husband, Luis Felber, in her latest essay.
The 39-year-old actress, who was previously in a longterm relationship with Jack Antonoff, shed light on her last “affair” in the essay.
"You really never know when you’re having your last affair. Some of us hope that every frog we kiss is our happy ending, while others stand hand in hand with their soulmate, still terrified of the vista narrowing, the buffet running out, closing time," she began in the essay for British Vogue.
The Girls star recalled, "I met Craig in a backyard in LA, in the halcyon days of the pandemic. He was sitting in a folding chair with his mask on, ankles crossed in perfectly worn Vans."
She gave further glimpses into the brief affair with the mystery man throughout the essay, eventually going on to recount her final goodbyes when she left for the U.K.
Dunham has told the story of moving to the U.K. from her native New York City in a new upcoming series, Too Much, which is loosely based on real life.
In the essay, Dunham also opened up about meeting Felber for the first time after she moved to London, and a mutual friend set them up.
"Equally chastened and enlightened by the Craig of it all, I would ask this man hard questions, and I would really hear him when he answered, slowly and deliberately, sometimes telling me things he knew I wouldn’t want to hear, but doing it anyway (which I’ve come to think is love.)," she recalled of her meeting with her now-husband.
