George Clooney recently appeared on the Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he showered praise on his former ER co-star Noah Wyle's new show, The Pitt.
The two actors played Dr Doug Ross and Dr John Carter, respectively, on the hit medical drama ER.
"Have you guys seen that show?" Clooney asked the audience after host Seth Meyers mentioned it. "It's so good."
He added that he and Wyle have "been really dear friends since we did the pilot [for ER]. He is just the most honorable, talented young man. I get to say [that] because I'm an old man and I cannot be happier for his success on the show. The show is just a beautiful show, and he does just a great job with it."
Clooney and Wyle worked together on ER for five seasons before Clooney left the show to focus on other projects. Wyle continued on the series through season 11, making guest appearances in seasons 12 and 15. ER aired from 1994 to 2009.
In a lighthearted moment on the show, Clooney joked that he "hated" Wyle because he never struggled to memorize medical terms during their time on ER.
"People should hate Noah," Clooney quipped, drawing laughter from the audience.
The Pitt, which stars Wyle as Dr Michael Robinavitch, follows the daily lives of healthcare professionals in a Pittsburgh hospital as they navigate personal crises, workplace politics, and the emotional toll of treating critically ill patients.
The show has received rave reviews and has already been renewed for a second season.
