‘White Lotus’ star Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou open up on feud rumours
Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou set the record straight about rumoured feud between them
Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood have finally put rumours to rest about their off-screen relationship following their roles on The White Lotus season 3.
In a candid joint interview with Variety on June 4, the two actors cleared the air and made it clear there’s no bad blood between them.
“There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,” Goggins said, visibly emotional as he spoke about his co-star.
“This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I’ll be on an island, I think Greece. But she’s special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”
Their onscreen chemistry as a couple won viewers over, but talk of a possible rift grew after fellow cast member Jason Isaacs hinted at tension between unnamed actors during filming.
Fans became even more suspicious when they noticed Goggins and Wood had unfollowed each other on Instagram, and things escalated further after Goggins dodged a question about Wood in a May interview.
“What am I gonna do, speak for both of us? Never,” Goggins told Variety, referring to the backlash he received for his brief response in The London Times. He said the journalist pressed him three times about Wood and accused the line of questioning of having a “divisive nature.”
Goggins also took issue with a specific comparison made during that exchange. “What he was insinuating, it was so disgusting. It was so appalling. I was flabbergasted. And I said, ‘F**** mate, wow. I think we’re done here.’”
As for the social media drama, Wood weighed in with a pointed take.
“I think it’s such a comment on where we’re at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a s**** about Instagram,” she said. “Why not have conversations about the story and Rick and Chelsea and enjoy it?”
With both actors now setting the record straight, it seems the real story is one of deep mutual respect—whatever Instagram might suggest.
