Ryan Reynolds' 'Animal Friends' faces stiff competition
'Animal Friends' and 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' release fall on same date
Warner Bros. has pushed back the release date of its live-action hybrid film Animal Friends to May 1, 2026.
The movie, previously set for release on October 10, 2025, stars Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, and Aubrey Plaza.
The film, directed by Peter Atencio, follows a road trip adventure. Atencio is known for his work on the comedy films Keanu and The Machine.
Animal Friends will face stiff competition on its new release date, as Disney's The Devil Wears Prada 2 is also scheduled for release on May 1, 2026.
Avengers: Doomsday, another highly anticipated film, recently moved its release date from the same weekend to later in 2026.
The cast of Animal Friends includes Reynolds, Momoa, Plaza, Addison Rae, Dan Levy, Lil Rel Howery, and Ellie Bamber. The project is a collaboration between Legendary, Maximum Effort, and Prime Focus Studios.
